Remove Conficker Virus from my PC

  •       1.Use Mcafee Network Detection tool to  find out if you have Computers on your network that are affected .
  •      2. if you find any pc affected with the virus isolate them from the network ideally unplug the network cable.
  •      3.  Install Microsoft Security Update MS08-067 on the virus affected machine.

For networked computers,

  • Run a good security suite (Mcafee Total Security, Norton 360,CA etc).
  • Keep your computer updated with the latest patches. If you don’t know how to do this, have someone help you set your system to update itself.
  • Don’t use “free” security scans that pop up on many web sites. All too often these are fake, using scare tactics to try to get you to purchase their “full” service. This where some infections occur and are added to the PC.
  • Turn off the “autorun” feature that will automatically  run off USB devices.
  • Be smart with your passwords.
